Abstract:
A 54-year-old male with 6 months of right-sided nasal obstruction, cheek pressure, and yellow to green foul-smelling anterior and posterior nasal drainage
No other complaints
22-item Sino-Nasal Outcome Test (SNOT-22) result: 16
He has had three 2-week courses of augmentin (875 mg twice per day [BID]) based on an outside sinus culture demonstrating methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA); each course gave temporary relief.
Past medical history (PMH), past surgical history (PSH), social history (SH), family history (FH): none
Sinus computed tomography (CT) scan and nasal endoscopy are performed.
